Phase Three: Mental & Ethereal  |  Step Six: Life Force

Is there one thing that drives all plants, animals and humans to propagate?
A undiscovered force that drives all life to survive and thrive?

Might love be component to this?

Might the tension between
evolution and the intelligent design metaphor
just be a false dichotomy,
given our lack of sensory and cognitive capacity to conceive of such things?
Can anyone ever really know?

If ‘God’ were a metaphor, what would she or he represent?
Why might human psychology and imagination need a personified god
or create the idea of a god or gods?

How does Disney animation portray the conversion of a landscape from winter to spring?
Is this an exaggeration?
Is it a representation of anything? Is our reaction to this instinctive?
Is their vivid portrayal of good and evil just a human mental construction or is there some significance in it?

How does it make you feel?

Life thrives from both competition and collaboration:
Who in society favours each of these two?
How can they (or do they) often work together?

How do these two forces that shaped our species get used or misused
by philosophical, political, ideological or religious traditions and stories?

Does the word ‘spiritual’ have any actual meaning?
If it does, will it be ‘discovered’ by scientists and measured some day in the future?
Who would disagree and why?

Here you will find life coaching guidance for free, as scaffolded prompts for chats, based on a careful merger of the 'Nine Boxes' (Susan Jeffers of ‘Feel the Fear…’ fame), Bloom’s Taxonomy of Thinking, the Circles of Concern (popularised by Covey’s ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’) and the Socratic Method (as repackaged by Simon Sinek's 'Start With Why' and Francesca Gino's 'The Power of Why' which sit with the practice of Cartesian Doubt).
